Two Starbucks shops in Las Vegas will be giving away free coffee on Friday, with the promotion continuing at select stores through New Year's Eve.

As part of a national “pop-up parties” promotion, the stores at Sahara Avenue and Rye Street and at Charleston Boulevard and Town Center Drive will be giving away a tall espresso beverage with each purchase from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday.

Mackenzie Johnson, a manager at the store at 3301 W. Sahara Ave., said the coffee shop will have extra workers on hand for the promotion.

“Starbucks allowed us to have extra labor, so waits shouldn’t be very long,” Johnson said. “We do expect to be busy.”

Johnson said customers will not need to access the Starbucks mobile app to take advantage of the deal, but there will be a limit of one free drink per customer.

Starbucks is hosting the promotion at select stores nationwide from Friday through New Year’s Eve and will announce locations of participating locations daily at Starbuckspopup.com.
