Fatal traffic crashes mar Thanksgiving holiday

The Thanksgiving holiday was marred by several fatal crashes on Las Vegas-area roads.

A motorcycle ran into the back of a pickup truck about 11:20 p.m. Wednesday at Warm Springs Road and Grayson Circle, according to Henderson Police.

The 25-year-old motorcyclist died at the scene, police said.

At 8:35 a.m. Thursday, Metro Police responded to Russell Road and Durango Drive, where the driver of an SUV ran a red light and hit a car, killing a 32-year-old woman and injuring her 12-year-old daughter, Metro Police said.

The driver of the SUV, Nathaniel Postelle III, 27, was booked counts of DUI and drug possession, Clark County Detention Center logs show. He suffered minor head injuries, police said.

The girl was treated at University Medical Center for minor injuries, police said. The woman left behind three young children, Metro’s traffic unit said via Twitter.

In another incident, state troopers investigated a crash Thursday night in the southbound lanes of U.S. 95 that killed one person and hospitalized several others, the Nevada Highway Patrol said. The freeway was shut down for several hours, snarling southbound traffic for miles.
