Bishop Gorman’s Mwani Wilkinson (23) lays up the ball during a game against Coronado at the Cox Pavilion at UNLV Friday, Jan. 24, 2020.

LSU commit Mwani Wilkinson filled up the stat sheet Friday for the Bishop Gorman High basketball team, scoring 25 points to go along with 11 rebounds, five assists, five blocks and four steals in a 81-48 victory against Basic in the Desert Regional quarterfinals.

It was the playoff opener for Gorman, the eight-time defending state champion.

Christian Bento had 11 points and six rebounds for the Gaels, and Zaon Collins compiled 10 assists.

Basic finishes one of its most successful seasons in recent memory. The Wolves finished fourth in the Southeast League, and earlier this week knocked off Desert Oasis for its first playoff victory in more than 15 years.

Gorman plays Liberty on Tuesday in the regional semifinals.
