The Durango High basketball team had a losing record in 2018-19. This season, the Trailblazers are one victory away from reaching the state tournament.

Durango received 26 points from Tone Hunter on Friday in a 71-62 victory against Foothill in the Desert Region quarterfinals.

“Our kids continue to play hard on defense,” Durango coach Chad Beeten said. “Good things will continue to happen from that.”

Freshman Sebastian Mack had 19 points for Durango and Jacob Howard added eight points.

Durango will play Coronado next week in the regional semifinals, where the winner earns a spot in Reno for the state tournament starting Feb. 27.
