We thank Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, for seeing the truth and acting on it. We are proud to have him represent us here in Utah, and will consider his views on governmental matters in the future.
We are not Republicans, and until that party reconsiders its unquestioning support of a psychopathic president, we will never join it. We were crushed by the Senate’s unconstitutional blocking of witnesses and documents at the impeachment trial. We view that as criminal. The Senate seriously damaged our republic and democracies the world over.
We are equally concerned with the loss of the individuality of our three equal powers of government. It’s obvious to all but Republicans that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Attorney General William Barr are gradually weakening the Constitution as they build an empire for the president. The Senate has demonstrated its support for that ugly evolution.
