With a huge heavyweight fight and the first Vegas NASCAR race of the year lined up this weekend, expect amazing entertainment opportunities to complement the massive sporting events. Here are some of your options.

CHER Park Theater is full of superstar performers these days, but Cher brings one thing to her residency that you won’t get from Lady Gaga, Aerosmith or anyone else. She’s got the best stories, accumulated through the decades of her unique and iconic career, and she’s happy to share some of those tales during her over-the-top concert productions at Park MGM. She’s back on the Strip this weekend and currently scheduled only through February 29, so don’t miss out. February 21-22, info at mgmresorts.com.

SARAH MCLACHLAN The incredibly emotional ballads lodged in your brain (“Angel,” “I Will Remember You”) are only part of singer-songwriter Sarah McLachlan’s intimate musical performances at Encore Theater this weekend. February 21-22, info at wynnlasvegas.com.

BRIAN NEWMAN AFTER DARK Trumpeter, bandleader and all-around fun late-night music guy Brian Newman usually only brings his jazz-infused party to the NoMad Restaurant at Park MGM when Lady Gaga is in town. This weekend he’s sneaking in for a few extra shows featuring special guest performers, burlesque queens and all the energy you need. February 21-22, info at parkmgm.com.

BRET MICHAELS He’s part of the biggest summer rock tour of 2020 featuring Mötley Crüe, Def Leppard and Poison, and on Saturday night, Bret Michaels is part of NASCAR weekend in Las Vegas. He’ll be performing a free concert for this year’s RaceJam party on the Third Street Stage near the Four Queens under the Fremont Street Experience canopy starting at 9 p.m. February 22, info at vegasexperience.com.
