Letter to the editor:

TDS isn’t a clever or funny riposte

In response to the Jan. 17 letter “Trump drives people crazy”:

Mental health is a serious issue in this country, and it afflicts approximately 25% of the population, or about 75 million people. It is estimated there are 5 million people living with dementia right now, and almost one in eight people die from it and Alzheimer’s disease every year. Those are the sad facts of dementia and mental health in America.

Comparing a real problem in America with a catchphrase boggles the mind. “TDS,” or Trump Derangement Syndrome, was made up by a few buffoons trying to figure out how to sound smart and funny at the same time. It’s propagated by simple-minded followers who fancy themselves intelligent and comedic.

Mental health is not a game, and Trump and his followers are the only ones who think statements like that are funny. I know they have a hard time understanding anything that makes real sense so let me dumb it down for them. You are cowards, bullies, liars, ignorant morons and traitors. I say this so you know that at least one person who opposes you does so in the light of day.

Stay away from “fake” problems and grow a backbone. If you like something your supreme leader has done, say it and nothing else. To do otherwise shows exactly why some of us don’t like Trump or his followers.
