Man fatally shot at Fourth of July party

A teen fatally shot a man who was trying to break up a fight at a Fourth of July party, according to Metro Police.

The shooting happened shortly after 11 p.m. Saturday in the 500 block of Greasewood Drive, in the area of Bonanza Road and Marion Drive.

The victim was trying to break up an altercation between two partygoers when the 17-year-old suspect pulled a gun and fired multiple rounds toward those involved in the fight, police said.

The victim was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead, police said. His name was not released.

The suspect, who was not identified, was booked at the Clark County Detention Center on a count of open murder, police said.
