The new Circa Resort & Casino in downtown Las Vegas is expected to be open in time for Halloween.

The first five floors of the 35-story resort — basically, everything except the hotel tower — will debut Oct. 28, casino owner Derek Stevens said in a news release.

The resort was originally scheduled to open in December. That’s still the plan for the hotel tower, which will feature 777 rooms and suites starting on the eighth floor.

“Sometimes life throws you curveballs, and 2020 has been an unpredictable year for the entire world,” said Stevens, who promised “an opening unlike Las Vegas has experienced.”

The first five floors to open will feature a two-story casino with 1,350 slot machines and 49 table games, along with a sportsbook that will hold up to 1,000 people, a pool amphitheater, restaurants and bars.

To speed up the construction timeline for the resort’s first five floors, construction resources were shifted from the hotel tower, Stevens said.

The first new casino resort built downtown in decades, Circa is located on property formerly occupied by the Las Vegas Club at Fremont and Main streets.

Once complete, the resort will employ about 1,000 people, Stevens said.
