Sen. Jacky Rosen, D-Nev., responds to a question during an editorial board meeting at the Las Vegas Sun offices in Henderson Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2019.

Nevada Democratic U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen this morning launched an online resource portal to assist small businesses in Nevada affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

The portal is designed to help small business owners navigate recently passed assistance programs, including loan and grant programs Rosen helped pass into law last week as part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act.

“Thousands of Nevada’s small businesses and their hard-working employees are struggling as a result of the uncertainty that the coronavirus pandemic has unleashed around the world,” Rosen said in a statement. “Helping our small business community navigate this difficult time will be paramount for helping protect the health of our state’s economy in the long run.”

Rosen last week voted for a bipartisan, $2.2 trillion spending package that includes $350 billion for low-interest loans to small businesses and nonprofits to maintain their workforce and help pay operating expenses.

The package also includes $10 billion for Small Business Administration grants up to $10,000 to small businesses for immediate relief for their operating costs.

“My team is taking steps to help Nevada small businesses understand the much-needed resources and federal support that is currently available to them, including the new loan and grant programs created by the CARES Act,” Rosen said.

Rosen asks Nevada small business owners to contact her office with further questions at [email protected].

Her staff also complied answers to a list of commonly asked questions.
