A parking dispute Sunday led to a fight that left a man dead, another person critically injured and two suspects in jail, according to Metro Police.

Homicide detectives arrested Jimmie Newson and Thirlon Newman, both 33, on Monday, police said. They were booked at Clark County Detention Center on one count each of murder and battery with substantial bodily harm, police said.

Officers responded about 1:15 a.m. Sunday to a convenience store in the 2500 block of South Valley View Boulevard, near Sahara Avenue, where they found two men outside who had been beaten, police said.

They both suffered critical injuries and were taken to University Medical Center, where Julius Bahe, 59, of Arizona died, the Clark County Coroner’s Office said.

Bahe and another person were in a pickup truck when they began to argue with a woman over the way she parked her vehicle, police said.

Newsom and Newman got out of a BMW and got into a fight with the victims, police said.

Both victims were punched into unconsciousness before Newsom and Newman fled the scene, police said. The suspects were later arrested.

Bahe’s cause of death has not yet been determined, the coroner’s office said today.
