In response to the New York Times story “History of big public projects filled with dismal results,” published Dec. 1 in the Sun, I should point out that the Hoover Dam, one of the biggest public projects in American history, was completed under deadline and under budget.
Granted, the dam was a single focused job, but it still required several big corporations to work in harmony with one another.
If America could do that, can’t the same be done with megaprojects today?
