Last year, 20 families were surprised by a local company with free house painting. Blue Ape Painting recently finished its “Paint it Forward” program, which took nominations from Southern Nevadans to find local homeowners and organizations who were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and could use a fresh look. The first recipient was even gifted three laptop computers for her children, who had been sharing one computer.

“We hope to inspire even more organizations to serve this wonderful community,” said Richard Ethington, head of product at Blue Ape.

Blue Ape Painting offers an instant solution for scheduling exterior home painting. Customers answer a few simple questions about their home and desired paint quality, and a quote is offered instantly. Once the quote is accepted, Blue Ape works with the customer to determine colors and schedule the painting service, and Blue Ape handles the rest.

What sets you apart from your competitors?

Convenience and time. Traditional painting services require a days- or weeks-long selection process of finding and contacting companies, scheduling and conducting home visits for measurements and estimates, and negotiating pricing before proceeding with colors and scheduling. This same process with Blue Ape takes less than 10 minutes.

Explain your paint job process from beginning to end. How long does it take?

Customers visit blueapepainting.com and enter their address on the first page. After selecting the home’s stories and the desired paint quality, a painting quote is supplied instantly. The customer accepts the quote by entering their personal information and placing a secure and refundable deposit with a credit card. This takes just a few minutes to complete.

A member of our team will reach out to the customer to discuss color selection, available painting service dates and HOA approvals, if applicable. And those who aren’t interested in working with the HOA need not worry; we’ve got them covered. We work with all HOAs and can help coordinate color choices and approvals.

On painting day, our team will wash and prepare — including stucco repair — mask, paint and clean up. We take care of everything, and are usually finished in one to two days for most homes. The balance of the quote is collected after the customer has confirmed they are satisfied with the work.

How has the pandemic affected your business?

Business is booming. Customers who want to minimize contact love being able to get an estimate in a few taps of the keyboard and by clicking on a button. There’s very little face-to-face interaction needed.
