LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

McCarthy still pushing the lie

The top-ranking House Republican, Kevin McCarthy of California, has no one to blame but the GOP for Major League Baseball pulling the All-Star Game out of Atlanta.

He is blaming Democrats for misleading the sports leaders with bad information. But it was Republican lawmakers in Georgia who crafted restrictive new voting laws.

The change of venue was done by MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred after talking with prominent people from the sport, and Democrats had no input in their decision. McCarthy complained that there is a big financial loss to Atlanta and that they are just making a comeback after the virus crippled businesses.

On another ego trip, McCarthy tried to get Rep. Liz Cheney stripped of her position as House GOP conference chair for telling the truth about the presidential election.

Cheney said the election was done without any fraud and is not going to stand up say that the election was stolen from former President Donald Trump. Other members of the GOP, who suck up to Trump, still believe the big lie spread by Trump.

To this day, they don’t understand that people were tired of the lies and corruption in Trump’s administration, and that was the turning point in the election. Why would someone be punished for telling the truth?
