The writer of the Oct. 17 letter “US, Denmark not comparable” is concerned that because of differences in government and taxation, the United States can’t emulate Denmark.
With modern communications, the size of a country has zero to do with enacting effective policies to protect children’s development. Given our rates of child hunger, disease, discrimination, death and poverty, the writer offers no solution but does have a complaint.
Sitting at or near the bottom for many of these measures is nothing any civilized person should be happy with but, apparently, that writer is more concerned with keeping his money than saving the lives of vulnerable children.
