Michael Sabina passed for two touchdowns and rushed for a third to help the Cimarron-Memorial football team win the Duel in the Desert game with Cheyenne, 32-2.
“There’s nothing better than winning a rivalry game,” Cimarron coach Shane Kanie said. “It means a lot to our community, and more important, it means a lot to our school.”
Ayouba Sumoaro had both receiving touchdowns for the Spartans, and Andrew Overland had a rushing score.
Defensively, interceptions were had by Isiah Feathers and Gilrelle Patterson.
It was Cimarron’s first win since Aug. 20.
“Super proud of these kids and what they accomplished tonight,” Kanie said. “Hopefully it can roll over to the rest of the season.”
