Nearly 3.2 million people visited Las Vegas in August, according to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.

That is up 6% from August 2021 but 11% down from August 2019, before the onset of the coronavirus pandemic.

In July, Las Vegas recorded just under 3.5 million visitors, according to the LVCVA. Through the first eight months of the year, more than 25 million people have visited Las Vegas.

If visitation trends continue through the end of the year, Las Vegas will likely surpass last year's total of 32 million visitors.

In 2019, the city welcomed more than 42 million tourists.
