Most NASCAR drivers will tell you restrictor-plate racing isn’t “real” racing but year in and year out, the races at Talladega and Daytona are the most exciting non-short-track races on the Sprint Cup schedule. …
Has any driver in recent NASCAR history had a better start to a season than Kyle Busch? In addition to two Sprint Cup victories this season, Busch has three wins in the Nationwide Series and two (in four starts) in the Truck Series. …
It would have been interesting to see if Juan Montoya had anything for Busch on the final lap Sunday, had the caution flag not come out. Montoya was in prime position to try a slingshot pass for the lead when the yellow was displayed. …
So Tony Stewart is exploring his options for 2010, is he? How’s this for a Super Team: Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Tony Stewart under the Hendrick Motorsports banner. It probably won’t happen, but it’s fun to dream. …
Montoya has been racing in NASCAR since the end of the 2006 season, so you would think FOX analyst Larry McReynolds would have learned how to pronounce his name by now. Instead, McReynolds still mispronounces Montoya’s name as “MANtoya” about half the time. …
Has NASCAR revoked Kevin Lepage’s license yet?

Get it together Brian, Montoya doesn't have the the $&#%$@'s to try and pass the Shrub on the last lap. Who would go with Juan, nobody!! He's very happy with a second place finish, trust me!
Long live the Shrub, aka Roudy, aka Wild Thing!! He is 'God's gift' to NASCAR at the moment, and I love him!!
Lepage....kill the goof!!
I think it's safe to say that the 48 car has had a better start to a season recently (2006 rings a bell.) And I'd sure as hell hope one of the top 5 most talented drivers in NASCAR would win half the truck series races he competes in.
McReynolds mispronounces everything, and doesn't most of the broadcast crew, save the non-hayseeds in Myers and Joy, call him Larry Mac-reynolds anyway?
The 48 car in 2006? Yes, but I'm talking about DRIVERS, not cars. How many Nationwide (then called the Busch Series) and truck races did Johnson enter -- let alone win -- in 2006?
That's like saying Ohio State had a great start to the football season because the went 4-0 against Youngstown, Toledo, Ohio and Indiana... and USC didn't do as well because they beat Hawaii, Nebraska and Arkansas before losing to Oregon. The competition isn't the same, especially this year when you only have 5 or 6 regular Busch-Whackers.
fancan - "Get it together Brian, Montoya doesn't have the the $&#%$@'s to try and pass the Shrub on the last lap. Who would go with Juan, nobody!! He's very happy with a second place finish, trust me!"
And you know this how? What special powers allows you such insight into the mans mental makeup?
If you don't mind I think I'll pass on any offer to "trust you."
Full_Throttle. OK, don't trust me, that's alright with me too, and maybe it is a bit of a dumb thing to say, but not everyone takes it as a serious statement. Also, my comment as you dutifully copied, was addressed to Brian, not you.
However, in case you didn't notice, Denny Hamlin was behind Juan. What do you think would have happened if Montoya had pulled out to pass? He probably would have ended up tenth or something. That's why he was happy with second, and that is my opinion - and 'special power'.
