Metro Police are searching for two men in their early to mid 20s who may have chased 17-year-old Joseph Lopez into a storm drain and shot him.

Construction workers placing traffic control barricades about 6:18 p.m. Monday near 9310 W. Tropicana Ave. first saw a piece of clothing inside the storm drain, police said. They discovered a body and called police.

Metro homicide detectives believe Lopez may have been involved in a confrontation a short time before the body was discovered. The victim may have been chased inside the storm drain where he was killed by several gunshots, police said.

One man is described as 6 feet 2 with a thin build and red, spiked hair and wearing dark clothing. The other man is 5 feet 10, stocky build and wearing dark clothing and a dark beret-type hat.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Metro's homicide unit at 828-3521 or Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
