UMC employee arrested for theft from hospital

A 33-year-old University Medical Center employee, Keisha Jones, has been arrested and charged with stealing up to $109,000 from the hospital.

Jones, who worked in the hospital's Lied Pediatric Center, was arrested on Wednesday after an undercover investigation. Metro Police Criminal Intelligence Section arrested Jones on one count of burglary and one count of felony theft.

Hospital representatives contacted the police earlier this week after an internal audit revealed that Jones might be responsible for the thefts from January 2007 until the present.

Jones has been booked into the Clark County Detention center, police said. The investigation continues and more charges may be brought, police said.

  1. She should have realized Lacy Thomas wasn't the only well paid employee to bilk taxpayers money..nor the only one to be in the radar. Walk the halls at UMC and see the other thieves moseying along with no sense of urgency while we the tax payer, pay them top wages and the union protects thier less than mediocre work ethics. I'd hate to be a patient there.
