The Internet was swarmed with a flood of responses Wednesday when the Bleacher Report ran a story with the rumor that UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar was pulling out of a title fight with Shane Carwin on July 3 in Las Vegas.
Yahoo.com's Kevin Iole quickly confirmed with UFC officials and Lesnar's camp that the rumor was inaccurate and that Lesnar is still looking forward to returning to the octagon after nearly an entire year off.
The Bleacher Report is a credentialed UFC media member which relies on a large staff for its content. The author of the Lesnar rumor, Tom Kelly, is a 17-year-old secondary student from Ireland, according to his Twitter account.
