Las Vegas among cities that make sense for MLB expansion

Major League Baseball's most likely route to opening new markets is expansion to 32 teams.

Las Vegas is No. 3 on Sporting News' list of likely candidates, citing the city's popularity among players who are asked where they'd like to see an expansion team.

Also, with the NHL making inroads to become the first major pro sports league to set up shop here, it would be less awkward for baseball to make peace with having a team in the nation's gambling capital.
