It’s mafia quiz time, kids:

Question: How do you replace a Giancana?

Answer: With a different Giancana!

In the face of a lawsuit “Mafia Princess” Antoinette Giancana has reportedly filed against the Mob Experience at Tropicana, the attraction has hired Giancana’s own son to replace her as a paid consultant.

So, put your hands together for Carl Manno, son of Antoinette, and grandson of Sam “Momo” Giancana. This development is the latest twist in a sometimes farcical modern-day mob tale at the Trop.

This month, Giancana was let go by Mob Experience head Jay Bloom for what he termed a breach of contract. Giancana was among the family members recruited by Bloom two years ago to serve as public spokeswoman for the attraction, set to open for previews Tuesday.

But Giancana’s propensity for “going rogue” in public appearances, her public claims that she was not properly compensated for her time and the possessions she provided the Experience, and her prickly relationship with the Mob Experience staff finally led Bloom to void her contract with the company.

Tuesday, it was reported that Giancana had sued Bloom’s company for at least $70,000 in money she claims is owed for her time and the old furniture and documents from her family that she handed over to the Mob Experience.

Bloom, who says he has seen no such complaint from Giancana or anyone representing her, has provided documents showing he had paid Giancana what was agreed upon for those artifacts, and reports that he has been informed by Giancana’s former attorney, Robert LaBriola, that the Mob Experience had not breached the contract with Giancana in relation to those possessions.

Bloom responded further today by announcing that Manno would step in to replace the former Mob Experience team member.

A call today to Giancana asking for comment was not returned.

Bloom said this morning that Giancana was making one last effort to make money off her famous familial connection. In a release to be issued this afternoon, he said, “"Ms. Giancana was always resentful of the fact that The Las Vegas Mob Experience highlighted numerous famous individuals related to the history of organized crime and the role they had in the building of Sin City. She wanted this attraction to be the Sam Giancana show, with her as the spokesperson and shining star.” (The Sun is involved in a cross-promotional agreement with the attraction in which it shares photo and video content in exchange for brand placement.)

To gain insight into the relationship between Manno and his mom, here is his comment in the upcoming news release:

“I have spent my life apologizing for my mother's erratic and unpredictable behavior, and I find myself having to do it again here.”

Others involved in the project are Millicent Rosen (daughter of Benjamin Siegel), Vincent and Nancy Spilotro (the son and widow of Tony Spilotro), Jan Sachs (widow of Al Sachs) and Meyer Lansky II and Cynthia Duncan (grandchildren of Meyer Lansky).

We are tempted to say that this is now one big happy family. But stay tuned.
