Roseanne is headed to the factory of laughs at the Trop

The Laugh Factory at Tropicana is becoming just that, a conveyor belt of guffaws now anchored by Roseanne Barr.

Murmurs dating back at least a couple of months that Roseanne would be slotted into the prime 7 p.m. slot at the Laugh Factory comedy club space are verified by the listing of her shows on the Trop’s website. She premieres Jan. 14 for a six-night-a-week engagement. Tickets are on sale through March 3. Prices are $49, $59 and $69.

The arrival of Roseanne moves Murray Sawchuck’s comedy/magic show to 5 p.m. (he starts in the new time slot on Feb. 4), and the Laugh Factory’s regular three-comic showcase remains at 8:30 and 10 p.m.

Roseanne is the first solo stand-up comic to play that room since the man who designed the club, Brad Garrett, left a year ago for MGM Grand.

The Laugh Factory’s layout is expected to change, with the addition of booths that have been pulled from the old Tiffany Theatre showroom in the continuing renovations that will turn that room into a more contemporary-styled theater. That remodel, which has effectively gutted the half-century-old showroom, is to be finished in time for the next Las Vegas spin of “Dancing With the Stars: Live in Las Vegas” at the Trop in the spring of 2013.
