“Absinthe” has finally locked up one of its lead performers, and, no, we’re not talking about a new act in the show.

The final performer to extend her contract with the show is the sultry singer Melody Sweets. “Absinthe” is operating under an open-ended agreement with Caesars Entertainment to be staged in its white-tented Cauldron of Mischief at Caesars’ Roman Plaza.

To ensure the show can maintain its high quality through this permanency, producers have spent several weeks (at least) securing the lineup of acts that have made the production one of the most popular shows on the Strip.

But Sweets, the green-swaddled singer of the “Slice of Heaven” number midway through the show, had held out to entertain options from another in-development production in Las Vegas. Similar to many performers in “Absinthe,” Sweets’ stage skills could cross over to other shows or even stand alone.

But this week, producers and Sweets herself confirmed, she is back under an exclusive agreement in the partnership between Spiegelworld and BASE Entertainment. She’ll be around for a time, too. Cast members typically work under one- or two-year contracts, which means the Green Fairy is set to remain a healthy slice of the performance at least through the fall of 2013.
