Monday By the Numbers this week visits the Colosseum, Light, the Spiegeltent and the Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel.
These are spaces. The humans are Celine Dion, the cast of “Baz,” Melody Sweets and the crowd at the annual AFAN Black & White Party.
Let’s roll:
Approximately 15: Standing ovations for Celine Dion, as I count majority house as standing ovations, in her return to the Colosseum on Thursday night.
25: Full songs and tunes sampled in medleys by Celine.
500: Approximate seating capacity for the next venue being sought by “Baz” after it closed Sunday night at Light in Mandalay Bay.
9 1/2: Weeks “Baz” ran at Light.
2: Times veteran Las Vegas-based publicist Michael Caprio cried during Sunday’s final “Baz” performance.
6: Length, in feet, of the tail of the snake costume worn by Sweets in Friday midnight’s “Coney Island! Burlesque at the Beach!” at the “Absinthe” Spiegeltent.
15: Consecutive kickflips performed, in succession, by The Risley Brothers during the show.
19: Days until Wayne Newton’s Casa de Shenandoah attraction opens to the public.
3,000: Attendees at this year’s AFAN Black & White Party at the Joint on Saturday night.
$140,000: Amount raised at this year’s Black & White event.
30: Anniversary to be celebrated by the AFAN event next year.
13: Anniversary celebrated by Fright Dome at Circus Circus, which opens Oct. 2.
20: Music videos in which Chippendales at the Rio guest star and host Tyson Beckford has appeared (including “Unbreak My Heart” by Toni Braxton, “Toxic” by Britney Spears and “Infinity” by Mariah Carey).
Transport yourself to the opulent and excessive Roman Empire at Caesars Palace. But the ever-changing Caesars Palace is far from ancient. The hotel and casino is constantly raising the bar for what visitors can expect in a Vegas resort experience.
Caesars Palace features 3,348 rooms and suites in five towers, including the new luxury boutique Nobu Hotel and Restaurant, which opened Feb. 4, 2013, in the totally remodeled Centurian Tower. Caesars features 129,000 square feet of gaming space, including the Strip’s largest poker room and a 250-seat sports book. Other amenities include about two dozen restaurants, a four-level shopping mall, four pools, a spa, Pure and Poetry nightclubs and Pussycat Dolls.
Dining options include restaurants from world-renown chefs Guy Savoy, Wolfgang Puck, Bobby Flay, Gordon Ramsay and, on Feb. 4, 2013, Nobu Matsuhisa.
You never know what characters you’ll run into at Caesars with regular performers like Jerry Seinfeld, Bette Midler, Elton John and maybe even the emperor himself.
