For this week’s Monday By the Numbers column, we had quite a lot of assistance for our Valentine’s Day theme.

The folks at Vegas.com, our sister (or mister) booking website, have delivered many statistics related to Valentine’s Day and the ritual of marriage.

Assisting in this effort are Valentine’s Day and wedding experts including Tyler Bennett from Mark Schneider Design, DJ Patrick Labatte from The Music Solution, DJ Jeremy Wolff from All Night Long Entertainment, Ashley Mastowski from Gimme Some Sugar bakery, Andrea Eppolito from Eppolito Events and Brit Bertino from Simply Weddings Las Vegas.

It’s all about the romance, to a point. As The Beatles once said, “All You Need Is Love.” But they also said, “Money (That’s What I Want).”

Nonetheless, enjoy this lovely data:

$2,908: Average price of an engagement ring.

80: Average number of songs played at a wedding.

3-4: Length, in hours, of an average wedding reception.

3-4: Average tiers on a wedding cake.

$300: Average low-end price of a wedding cake.

$3,000: Average high-end price of a wedding cake.

200: Pounds of butter a bakery will go through during a peak weekend, such as Valentine’s Day.

$750: Average price for all wedding cakes.

600: Average number of hours it takes to plan a wedding.

$700-$1,200: The average cost, per person, of a luxury wedding.

$30,000: The average cost of a Las Vegas luxury wedding.
