This week, Monday By the Numbers examines how a fan vote in a national TV contest mattered little to the contest’s outcome, touches on the announced residency of superstar Diana Ross at the Venetian and swings by the latest firefest at the home of The Amazing Johnathan.

44: Percent of the vote garnered by Ricky Moreno to lead all contestants in the Travel Channel “Next Travel Star” competition, in which he did not advance to the finals.

38: Percent of the fan vote garnered by Blake Jeffers (who finished second in the vote), who did advance.

12: Percent of the fan vote garnered by Janel Koloski (who finished third in the vote), who also advanced.

0: Times the final vote was mentioned during the announcement of the finalists in the competition (and see that clip here).

1,000-plus: Entries for the “Next Travel Star” competition.

9: Dates announced for the return of Diana Ross to Venetian Theater in November.

$59.50: Base ticket price for Ross’ shows at the Venetian.

3: Months the touring version of “Frank Marino’s Divas Las Vegas” is playing Harrah’s Reno this summer (from Thursday through Sept. 28).

5: Guests at The Amazing Johnathan’s latest pool party (dubbed “The Amazing Blacklight-VBall-Fire Toys-Knife Spin-Juggle Party Part 2”) who learned how to breathe or eat fire during the shindig.

$300: What The Amazing Johnathan paid for a real human heart displayed in a glass case in his bedroom. The organ was taken from the body of a person who suffered from cardiomyopathy, which also is A.J.’s heart condition.

$200,000: Amount raised at the Golden Rainbow “Ribbon of Life” show at the Tropicana Theater on June 28.

800: Fans in attendance, approximately.

28: Shows remaining for Kristen Hertzenberg in “Million Dollar Quartet” at Harrah’s before her husband Dana, daughter Shea and she move to Houston.

28: Years since the release of “Dirty Dancing,” the touring stage adaptation of which is set for Reynolds Hall at the Smith Center from July 14-19.

10 cents: Donation made by Bonanza Beverage Co. to Goodwill of Southern Nevada for every Miller High Life bottle cap collected through Aug. 31. The partnership is among Bonanza, Miller Brewing Co. and O’Sheas at the Linq Hotel. (To participate, legal-age consumers can bring their bottle caps to O’Sheas or send saved bottle caps to Bonanza Beverage Co. at 6333 Ensworth St., Las Vegas, NV 89119.)

293: Ways to make change for a dollar (and thanks to my friend Maxine Gaines for passing along that piece of trivia).
