House of Blues at Mandalay Bay will serve as the proverbial cradle of love next spring as Billy Idol is setting up for the latest “mini-residency” of performances on the Strip.
In a show titled “Bill Idol Forever,” the rocker, who turns 60 on Nov. 30, is set for nearly a dozen performances March 16, 18-19, 23 and 25 -26 and May 4, 6-7, 11 and 14.
He’ll be onstage on the nights the room’s regular headliner, Carlos Santana, is off.
Tickets start at $79.50 (fees not included) and are on sale at 10 a.m. Friday by visiting HouseofBlues.com/BillyIdol, MandalayBay.com and Ticketmaster.com and by calling (800) 745-3000.
Idol will be joined by his longtime on-again, off-again lead guitarist Steve Stevens. Expect a healthy complement of hits, among them “Dancing With Myself,” “Rebel Yell,” “White Wedding,” “Eyes Without a Face” “Flesh for Fantasy,” the cover of “Mony, Mony” and the afore-referenced “Cradle of Love.”
“Watch out, Vegas! We are planning a beast of a show that will rock and surprise my fans,” Idol said in a news release this morning. “Particularly those who adhere to the ‘what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas’ mantra!”
Over the past several years, Idol has appeared in Las Vegas at the old Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel in 2008, Pearl Concert Theater at the Palms and, most recently, the Chelsea in the Cosmopolitan in February.
