Primarily naked, dancing men are to descend on the Hard Rock Hotel.

“Magic Mike Live,” the brainchild of Channing Tatum of the movie of the same name, is set to open at the hotel in March.

“We’ve got a big announcement — we are going to be doing 'Magic Mike Live' in Vegas at the Hard Rock Hotel casino in March of next year,” Tatum said in a hastily assembled video announcement posted today on his Facebook page.

The show is to be staged at Club Domina, famous in the films, which takes over the old Body English nightclub and in a “360-degree dance-and-acrobatic striptease spectacular,” according to a news release issued this afternoon. The show is a live adaptation of “Magic Mike” and "Magic Mike XXL,” created and directed by Tatum (who is not a performer) and produced by the company Free Association (the production company in which Tatum is a partner) in association with United Talent Agency, Base Entertainment and the Hard Rock Hotel.

“ ‘Magic Mike’ has been a special and very personal project for me, and this show is a natural extension of that,” Tatum said. “So while I won’t be onstage as Mike, ‘Magic Mike Live Las Vegas’ is my vision, and I’m looking forward to spending a lot of time in Las Vegas creating something that will give women what they really want.”

The club has been redesigned as a cabaret-styled venue, with seating for 450 guests. Three bars and an integrated stage are components of the new design, which has been in process for several months as speculation about “Magic Mike” intensified.

A series of fellas were introduced in the clip identifying themselves as Rodrigo, Jesse, Vince, Brandon, Luke, Ryan, J.D. and another whose name was not quite audible. Alison Faulk, choreographer of the “Magic Mike” films, is fulfilling that role in the stage show.

The production hopes to tap into the popularity of the film franchise, which has grossed nearly $300 million.

Hard Rock Hotel COO Jody Lake says the show has “been in the works over a year” and is “a big game-changer for the Hard Rock.”

"This is the next of many new changes and amenities coming to the property this year," Lake added. The hotel overhauled its Center Bar in the fall and is adding convention space over the surface parking lot facing Paradise Road.

Other details about the Hard Rock’s new production are to be furnished later. As Tatum said in his video, “I can’t quite explain where we are or what we’re doing.” But they definitely know where, when, and what and what not to wear.
