Gibbons files for divorce, asks back in to mansion

The papers were filed in Carson City late this afternoon. Here's the lawyer's statement:

Today, on behalf of our client Governor Jim Gibbons, our firm filed various legal documents pertaining to the dissolution of his marriage and requesting a court ruling concerning the living arrangements of Governor and Mrs. Gibbons. The documents were filed at 4:15 in Carson City.

The Governor has on repeated occasions asked for privacy in this matter for his family. Consequently, neither this office, nor the Governor, nor his staff will have any further comment on these legal proceedings at the specific request of the Governor.

  1. Now maybe we will get some answers to Mazzeo, Trepp, Nanny Gate and others. Lets get ready to rumble. My bets on Dawn "lights out" Gibbons.

  2. Ahhhhh... The long and winding road comes to an end... Or, does it. How much attention will the local media, in fact, the national media pay to this situation. What will the dawn reveal? Will it be sunlight or smog. But, let's keep everything quiet, shhhhh! The family needs privacy in their moment of dysfunction. Bull! This man was elected governor of the fastest growing state in the union - and his private life, especially divorce - will become a public matter. And, it should! He is not some low level executive appointee. The governorship in Nevada is one of the more powerful in the nation. With all that is swirling about with budget cuts, education fiascos, and all the rest that Gov. Gibbons plays a major role - it will be most telling how he handles this "private matter." Oh, I am so proud that I voted for Dina Titus and am so sorry that she is going to D.C. - however, ridding us of Mr. Porter, is perhaps the silver lining.

  3. I just hope he is not using state funds for his personal affairs. He should move into a simple house like Warren Buffett (worth 60 Billion $). Nevada could use the mansion money for roads, schools, medical specialists for the hepatitis scare in Vegas, or any number of needed projects.

Gibbons should be a dry cleaner instead of the governor due to all of his dirty laundry.

  4. When does Ms. Gibbons plan on dating again? I'm just curious.

    Rabies

  5. Gibbons is still very popular on the I-80 corridor between Reno and Wendover. He only needs 40% of Clark County to get reelected. He needs to bank at least 10 million. He should also hire Karl Rove as his campaign manager. Finally he needs to bring Senator Hatch of Utah into his inner circle. Hatch can run interference for him among the Mormons that want him excommunicated if the adultery allegations are proven true.

  6. Kurt - you're overthinking it. Gibbons is a dirty, slimy old lecher. We all knew this from the beginning. This divorce spiel doesn't really change anything.

  7. Impeach the dirty bum

  8. Recall.

  9. As I recall, the media predicted this when Dawn lost her campaign for her husband's congressional seat. It was said rather sardonically, but there were questions about whether the happy couple just did not want to live in the same state. I guess we have the answer now.
