One year already! That was the natural reaction to Siegfried & Roy’s invitation to celebrate their new tiger cubs’ first birthdays this morning at the Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat at The Mirage.

Here are the Vegas DeLuxe photos from 12 months ago when Star, Chakra, Cosmo and Svengali were born. They weighed just 2 pounds apiece and were cuddly handfuls of mischievous fun. Today, they each weigh almost as much as I do! Boy have they grown up quickly! Their average weight is 160 pounds apiece, and we’ll have the comparison photos later today to prove it.

Siegfried & Roy will throw the cubs their first birthday party this afternoon, and the illusionists have special gifts for the tiger cubs to mark the occasion. After the party, the magicians will hold a meet and greet with fans in their Secret Garden retail store and also autograph their book and other merchandise.

They opened the Secret Garden in 1997 as a haven for what is possible when humans and animals work, play and share lives together. It is an exotic, enchanting and wondrous world with white lions, the Royal White Tigers, panthers, leopards and Atlantic bottlenose dolphins. It also features the latest attraction -- an adorable leopard cub named Java -- but he’s not on the birthday gift list today!
