UFC 94 is shaping up to be a battle royale between BJ Penn and Georges St. Pierre, two formidable opponents who have met in the Octagon before. Three years ago the pair fought at Mandalay Bay for UFC 58 where GSP eked out a split decision victory over BJ “The Prodigy” Penn.
This time around, both competitors are belt holders in their respective weight classes so everything is up for grabs. Welterweight champ GSP will put his belt on the line as Penn has the chance to capture the welterweight title to add to his lightweight title. Penn has done his share of trash talking leading up to this fight and the mild mannered GSP seems to be taking it in stride, awaiting his chance to settle the score in the Octagon.
Regardless of the outcome of the fights, one thing is certain: There will be after parties. Lots of them.
Georges St. Pierre, BJ Penn, Clay Guida, Stefan Bonnar, Thiago Silva and UFC president Dana White will all be hosting after fight parties on the Strip. Kenny “KenFlo” Florian and Thiago Silva will be hosting a pre-party at Studio 54 and Hitman Fight Gear will be hosting their own pre-party at Prive. Just prior to the start of UFC 94, Tito Ortiz will host the grand opening of the Punishment MMA Store, the new MMA clothing store at Hooters. The store will feature Ortiz’s own Punishment Athletics brand as well as other lines like TapOut, Throwdown and Warrior.
