Here’s the latest installment of the Play of the Day, which uses odds from the South Point..
Our three sports writers started with a $10,000 bankroll — fictional, of course.
Phoenix plus-4.5 at Portland: $220 to win $200
Yesterday’s $1,100 loss certainly hurt, but in this competition you can’t stay on tilt. It’s back to the grind, although an admittedly smaller one since there isn’t much on the board I like.
The Phoenix Suns shouldn’t be any good, and yet here they are tied for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference with seven games to play. Their final stretch — highlighted by games against Oklahoma City and at San Antonio — is brutal and so they’re likely to fall short of the playoffs.
However, they’re not done yet and this is a good spot to make their final push. The Suns are 2-1 against Portland this season with the only loss suffered by one point.
If Phoenix is going to make this last week interesting it has to start with tonight’s game.
Standings: Bern (17-12, $10,290), Keefer (15-14, $9,717), Brewer (10-16-3, $6,060)
