Here’s the latest installment of the Play of the Day, which uses odds from the South Point.
Our three sports writers started with a $10,000 bankroll — fictional, of course.
Milwaukee Brewers (+105) at the Pittsburgh Pirates: $300 to win $315 : The Pittsburgh Pirates are my favorite team. Not just in baseball, in all sports. It pains me picking against them.
But it's the right play today because of Milwaukee starter Kyle Lohse.
Lohse is 10-2 lifetime against Pittsburgh with a 3.41 earned run average and has gone 10 straight starts against the Pirates without losing. Last Sunday, he was one out away from a complete game against Pittsburgh, striking out nine in 8 and 2/3 innings for the 4-1 win.
Today, unfortunately for my Buccos, should be a continuation of that performance.
Standings: Bern (19-14, $10,460), Keefer (16-18, $8,833), Brewer (12-19-3, $5,800)
