Here’s the latest installment of the Play of the Day, which uses odds from the South Point.
Our three sports writers started with a $10,000 bankroll — fictional, of course.
Golden State Warriors plus-2.5 against Los Angeles Clippers: $330 to win $300
I’ve done a pretty good job lately of proving I shouldn’t be trusted on the NBA playoffs, yet once again I can’t stay away. So here we go again.
Case Keefer made a nice payday off these teams’ last game when the Clippers crushed the Warriors. It was a popular play all around town, as most believe Los Angeles is clearly the better team in this series. I agree, but that only means so much. And with so many underdogs doing this well in the playoffs, I like getting a potentially dangerous team getting rare numbers at home.
Golden State hasn’t been a home underdog since Feb. 20 against the Houston Rockets, and it has only occurred twice all season. The Warriors won the Houston game outright and pushed as one-point dogs against the Miami Heat.
The point is, the Clippers are the better team but the Warriors present the better betting opportunity in this game.
Standings: Bern (19-16, $9,800), Keefer (17-19, $9,308), Brewer (14-19-3, $6,615)
