Here’s the latest installment of the Play of the Day, which uses odds from the South Point. Our three sports writers started with a $10,000 bankroll — fictional, of course.
Baltimore Orioles (-110) at Toronto Blue Jays: $550 to win $500 Baltimore starter Wei-Yin Chen has given up just one earned run over his past 15 innings, pitching eight shutout innings against Seattle in his most recent start.
Toronto starter Drew Hutchison is lucky to still be in the big leagues. On July 31 against Houston, he served up four earned runs in three innings before being replaced. On July 21, he didn’t make it out of the third inning against Boston, surrendering nine hits and six runs.
Toronto has lost four games straight and Baltimore has won three in a row. With Hutchison on the hill for the Blue Jays, I like both streaks to continue.
Standings: Bern (41-30-1, $13,424), Keefer (32-37, $8,942), Brewer (29-39-3, $3,465)
