Vegas Play of the Day: James Madison at Ball State

Here’s the latest installment of the Play of the Day, which uses odds from the South Point. Our three sports writers started with a $10,000 bankroll — fictional, of course.

James Madison plus-2 at Ball State: $550 to win $500 : James Madison’s backcourt of Jackson Kent and Ron Curry will be too much for Ball State to handle. Curry averages nearly five assists per game, and both guards score in double figures.

Ball State is much improved from last season’s five-win team, but it still suffering through growing pains. Point guard Zavier Turner averages nearly four turnovers a game, which is a formula for disaster against James Madison’s capable guards. Freshman Sean Sellers averages 14.6 points per game for Ball State, but has also been wildly inconsistent.

Ball State will be the better team later in the season. Tonight, though, James Madison will win straight up.
