Vegas Play of the Day: Team Hill vs. Team Webber

Here’s the latest installment of the Play of the Day, which uses odds from the South Point.

Our three sports writers started with a $10,000 bankroll — fictional, of course.

Team Hill minus-4 vs. Team Webber: $330 to win $300

I’m not going to pretend like I actually have any idea what’s going to happen in tonight’s Rising Stars Challenge in New Orleans. Still, it’s fun to throw some money at an exhibition to make it worth watching.

The teams are made up of select first- and second-year players that were drafted earlier this year. It played out that Team Webber has almost all rookies while Team Hill has nearly all sophomores, which is a big reason the more veteran team is favored.

However, Team Webber does have the hometown hero and probably the best player in the entire field in New Orleans Pelicans second-year big man Anthony Davis. He and the Philadelphia 76ers’ Michael Carter-Williams could be enough to keep this close if not win it outright.

But I’m going with the other side because Team Hill’s top five — Damian Lillard, Bradley Beal, Andre Drummond, Harrison Barnes and Giannis Antetokounmpo — together seem much better than what Team Webber will roll out. Honestly though, I have no idea how this will go.

Hopefully you already have Valentine’s Day plans and won’t need any additional action tonight. Me? I’ll be hanging out in Utah creating a drinking game for every time the Plumlee Brothers drop step one another.

Standings: Bern (9-5, $10,750), Keefer (4-7, $8,517.50), Brewer (4-7-2, $8,270)
