Here’s the latest installment of the Play of the Day, which uses odds from the South Point..
Our three sports writers started with a $10,000 bankroll — fictional, of course.
Memphis Grizzles plus-6 at the Oklahoma City Thunder: $440 to win $400: Oklahoma City has dropped three straight games since Russell Westbrook returned to the lineup from injury, creating much uncertainty for a team expected to challenge for a Western Conference Championship.
Without Westbrook in the lineup, Kevin Durant was an MVP candidate, leading Oklahoma City to a double-digit winning streak. Together, they’ve struggled, including straight-up early this week to Cleveland as a 15-point betting favorite. Ouch.
Memphis is steady with Marc Gasol on the inside, and the backcourt duo of Mike Conley and Courtney Lee.
Here’s how much I like the matchup: On Feb. 3 in our Play of the Day, I also selected Memphis getting points at Oklahoma City. They didn’t cover that day, though.
Let's hope I'm not too late in following the trend of betting against OKC. Soon, Durant and Westbrook will be back to their old dominating ways.
Standings: Bern (13-7, $11,390), Keefer (6-9, $8,497), Brewer (5-10-2, $6,910)
