Vegas Play of the Day: Stanford at Arizona

UNLV vs. Arizona

Sam Morris / Las Vegas Sun

An Arizona cheerleader performs during their game against UNLV at the McKale Center in Tucson Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013. Arizona won the game 63-58.

Here’s the latest installment of the Play of the Day, which uses odds from the South Point.

Our three sports writers started with a $10,000 bankroll — fictional, of course.

Arizona minus-10.5 vs. Stanford: $440 to win $400

Since it’s Sunday, there’s not a whole lot to choose from on the college slate, but it’s now March, which means the NBA officially doesn’t exist for the next month. I did find one game that I like today, and it features one of the teams most likely to still be playing in April.

Arizona seems to have found its groove in the post-Brandon Ashley portion of its season. The Wildcats were a better, or at the very least deeper, team with the talented Findlay Prep product, but Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and Gabe York have filled in nicely.

Meanwhile, Stanford just went to Arizona State and got thumped, and now it has to return to the state for the Wildcats. That’s a difficult back-to-back and one that I don’t think the Cardinal are equipped to survive. I like Arizona to run away today.

Standings: Bern (13-7, $11,390), Keefer (7-9, $8,897), Brewer (5-10-3, $6,910)
