Vegas Play of the Day: Providence vs. Seton Hall

Here’s the latest installment of the Play of the Day, which uses odds from the South Point..

Our three sports writers started with a $10,000 bankroll — fictional, of course.

Providence minus-1.5 vs. Seton Hall in Big East Conference semifinals; $440 to win $400: The two previous meetings this season between the teams have gone down to the wire, but that won’t matter because Seton Hall should have little left after fighting tooth and nail to upset Villanova Thursday. Providence is squarely on the NCAA Tournament bubble and will bring its A-game in proving it deserves an at-large berth.

Providence at the end of February beat host Seton Hall by five points. The Friars will have the best player on the floor in senior guard Bryce Cotton, who averages 21.7 points and 5.9 assists per game. And LaDontae Henton is tough to guard, averaging 13.6 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.

Seton Hall is barely a .500 team with a 17-16 record. It’s 290th nationally in rebounding and has no legit inside threat.

All signs point to the Friars.
