Oklahoma City Thunder plus-4 at Los Angeles Clippers: $440 to win $400
Following a thrilling first round, the NBA playoffs have started to lean more towards blowouts. This isn’t shocking as it would have been nearly impossible to match the previous round’s craziness.
This also means that taking the underdog may not be as good a bet now as it was a week ago. I’m hoping the Thunder can buck that trend and keep things close in their first game at the Staples Center.
I say hope because I’m not all that confident it will happen. The Clippers won Game One with a tremendous start that the Thunder couldn’t overcome. Then Oklahoma City countered with a combined 63 points from Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant.
Another performance like that and clearly Oklahoma City will be in good shape. While that’s certainly unlikely, Durant’s going to get his points and I’m interested to see if Westbrook can stay in his world-beating groove. If he’s even close to that Game Two performance, I think the Thunder have enough defense to keep this one close down the wire.
Standings: Bern (22-16-1, $11,100), Keefer (19-24, $8,098), Brewer (17-20-3, $7,595)
