Vegas Play of the Day: Fresno State at New Mexico

Here’s the latest installment of the Play of the Day, which uses odds from the South Point. Our three sports writers started with a $10,000 bankroll — fictional, of course.

Fresno State at New Mexico, Total Under 72: $550 to win $500: New Mexico ranks No. 3 nationally in rushing offense, gaining about 340 yards per game. That’s a good thing when playing the points total under because the clock will be running with the Lobos.

Because both teams rank near the bottom nationally in points allowed, linemakers have put the total in the 70s. I just don’t see the teams combining for 10 touchdowns.

It’s a battle of two below average teams in one of college football’s below average leagues. I’m willing to bet they won’t be able to get out of each others’ way.
