This week’s opening lines: Betting number indicates these SEC games will be close

football picks

This Southeastern Conference is regarded as college football’s unquestioned top league.

On Saturday, those powerful SEC teams should produce some closely contested games — well, at least according to the betting numbers on those game posted today in Las Vegas.

Third-ranked Alabama is just a minus-5 point favorite by CG Technology at No. 11 Mississippi and could be on upset alert. No. 5 Auburn is a minus-9.5 favorite against No. 17 LSU and will surely also face a tough test.

Texas A & M, who is ranked No. 6 and needed overtime last week to beat Arkansas, might not be as fortunate when it travels to Mississippi State. Oddsmakers opened the game as a pick-em. The Florida at Tennessee game is also a pick.

Buckle up. It’s going to be an awesome week.
