Vegas Play of the Day: Wyoming vs. Marshall

MWC title game

Isaac Brekken / AP

Wyoming’s Josh Adams reacts as his team wins an NCAA college basketball game against San Diego State for the Mountain West Conference tournament championship Saturday, March 14, 2015, in Las Vegas. Wyoming defeated San Diego State 45-43.

We've reset the Play of the Day with fresh bankrolls and turned it into a yearly competition. Our three sports writers have restarted with $10,000 bankrolls to continue using on odds from the South Point.

Wyoming minus-3 vs. Marshall: $440 to win $400

The Cowboys and Thundering Herd are meeting in the Global Sports Classic at Cox Pavilion. The other semifinal game is Grand Canyon vs. Houston, so I’m guessing some (or all of the) good seats are still available.

I generally don’t trust Wyoming away from home, especially with how one-dimensional it is this season, but I think that one dimension is going to have a big game tonight. Senior guard Josh Adams dominates the ball like few players in basketball, controlling 35.2 percent of Wyoming’s possessions and taking 34.2 percent of its shots when he’s on the floor. Those figures rank seventh and 14th in the country, respectively.

So, basically, if Adams struggles, so do the Cowboys. Good thing that won’t be an issue tonight against a defense that gives up a high 3-point percentage and a lot of second-chance opportunities.
