NCAA SMU Basketball

We've reset the Play of the Day with fresh bankrolls and turned it into a yearly competition. Our three sports writers have re-started with $10,000 bankrolls to continue using on odds from the South Point.

Tulsa plus-4.5 vs. SMU: $440 to win $400: SMU is one of the few remaining undefeated teams in college basketball. That claim may come to an end today for the 18th-ranked Mustangs.

Tulsa, which has won 13 of the last 15 meetings against SMU, has six players who average more than 10 points per game. That group is led by Shaquille Harrison’s team-high 17.9 points per game, and James Woodward’s 16 points per game.

SMU (11-0) has nice wins against Stanford, Michigan and Colorado. It makes 52.4 percent of its field goals, including 43 percent on 3-pointers. I just don’t see SMU continuing to score at that mark on the road against a tough Tulsa squad.

And, more important, I think Tulsa can match SMU basket-for-basket. The game won’t be decided until the end, favoring the home underdog.

Current Standings (as of July 1):Brewer (28-23, $10,405), Bern (18-28, $5,435), Keefer (21-35-2, $4,691)
