Vegas Play of the Day: Iowa State at Kansas

Here’s the latest installment of the Play of the Day, which uses odds from the South Point. Our three sports writers started with a $10,000 bankroll — fictional, of course.

Kansas minus-7 vs. Iowa State: $330 to win $300

This is another example of going with the team that lost the first conference meeting to get payback in the rematch. The Jayhawks lost by five in Hilton Coliseum, but the game wasn’t as close as that margin indicates. Iowa State dominated.

Spin it forward to tonight and Kansas is alone atop the Big 12 standings with a chance to push the Cyclones two games back. It’s great performances in these types of moments that has allowed the Jayhawks to win 10 straight conference titles, and I think they get another solid one tonight against a good Cyclones team that won’t have enough.
