Vegas Play of the Day: UCLA at Stanford

Here’s the latest installment of the Play of the Day, which uses odds from the South Point. Our three sports writers started with a $10,000 bankroll — fictional, of course.

UCLA plus-7 at Stanford: $330 to win $300

This goes against the trend I like — betting on the team that lost the first meeting — but this just feels like a few too many points to lay against a UCLA team that seems to have figured itself out a little bit.

The Bruins’ rough stretches this season have all been based on the road, so that’s a concern, but I have a feeling things can be better this time around. This is sort of UCLA’s last real stand. If the Bruins keep the momentum going, they can hang around in the battle for third in the Pac-12, but a loss drops them back into the mud.

I’m not saying UCLA will come away with the outright win, just that it should have one of its better road performances tonight.
