Vegas Play of the Day: Dallas Cowboys at Green Bay Packers

Packers-Lions

Green Bay Packers’ Aaron Rodgers is attended to after injuring his leg during the first half of an NFL football game against the Detroit Lions on Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014, in Green Bay, Wis.

Here’s the latest installment of the Play of the Day, which uses odds from the South Point. Our three sports writers started with a $10,000 bankroll — fictional, of course.

Dallas Cowboys plus-6 at Green Bay Packers: $550 to win $500 : Green Bay’s Aaron Rodgers is the best quarterback in football. Better than Manning. Better than Brady.

A healthy Aaron Rodgers, that is.

He won’t be at full strength today against the Dallas Cowboys in the NFC divisional round because of a lingering calf injury. That makes the Cowboys a good bet to not only cover as 6-point betting underdogs, but to win the game straight up.

Two weeks ago, the injury was so severe that Rodgers didn’t play a complete game against Detroit in the regular season finale. Even with a playoff bye week to rest, Rodgers will likely still be limited.

Even with a healthy Rodgers, Dallas has a chance to cover the spread. The Cowboys are 8-0 in road games and average 147 rushing yards per game, which ranks second in the NFL. Green Bay ranks 23rd in rushing yards surrendered, meaning the Dallas ground attack will help control the clock and keep Green Bay off the field.

Standings: Bern (61-52-1, $11,526), Keefer (59-61-2, $9,497), Brewer (55-60-3, $5,855)
